The Biomass Energy Resource Center (BERC) is committed to making its web sites accessible to all users. The BERC web site at large complies with Conformance Level A (Priority 1) of the World Wide Web Consortium accessibility rating.

The BERC web site includes the following features designed to improve accessibility for users with disabilities:

• Images on the site contain "alt tags," which contain descriptions of the images to aid users who listen to the content of the site by using a screen reader. Text transcripts accompany video or audio clips of speeches, remarks, and the like. 
  
• The site's style sheets are designed to allow users to resize the text of the site in browsers that support this feature (generally available under the View menu).
  
• Documents on the BERC site are published using Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). All pages with PDF documents contain a link from which a free Acrobat Reader for visually impaired users may be downloaded. 
  
• We test major redesigns with accessibility and HTML validators, and other web tools. The results of such reviews are incorporated into improvements for the web site.
