The Biomass Energy Resource Center (BERC) is inviting applications from exceptional individuals to join its team as Administrative/Executive Assistant at 30 hours per week.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the executive director and senior management staff
- Maintain/plan for office supply purchases
- Maintain office organization
- Maintain entire filing system with emphasis on keeping the executive director’s filing updated
- Responsible for maintaining computer hardware and software, with consultant’s assistance, and performing daily computer backups
- Perform reception duties, e.g., answering telephones, greeting people, responding to emails, etc.
- Assist in meeting, conference, and event logistics
- Attend board meetings, take meeting minutes, and prepare and send out board information in coordination with the executive director
- Manage staff travel
- Develop and maintain contact lists for mailings
- Create and edit documents
- Pick up and drop off mail at post office; distribute mail to staff
- Maintain executive director’s schedule
- Assist in Human Resources tasks
- Print and maintain stocks of informational materials
- Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management staff
Qualifications/Desired Attributes
- Associate’s degree in business, management, computer applications, clerical, or related field, or 3-to-5 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office applications; MS Project and QuickBooks experience a plus
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail, highly organized, and proficient at multi-tasking
- Experience working at a nonprofit organization helpful
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and a team player
- Ability to handle confidential information
